Meet the Author

It all started with Morticia Addams - a beautiful, graceful woman who was also creepy - and grew into a fascination with the deepest, darkest themes and questions of life (and death). Vampires became a favourite character through which to explore these ideas and more.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Arts - and one night as an extra in the motion picture film The Queen of the Damned - and R. J. Dawes is now writing fast-paced urban vampire thrillers. (Admittedly some other things happened in between).

While some of the most well-loved vampires in fiction, TV and film are among Dawes’ favourites, she also draws inspiration from such heroes as Jack Reacher and Batman. The world her characters inhabit is very dark at times, but there is always light at the end of the tunnel.
